JUST A SELECTION OF THINGS TO WEAR FOR ICE, ROLLER OR INLINE FIGURE & PERFORMANCE SKATERS...

To Bling... or Not to Bling

Hmmmmm... Do you want to add more bling to a figure skating outfit you've found, but don't know quite where to start?

First make sure you have a good snug fit – like a bathing suit, tight but not uncomfortable. Many new competitors get a figure skating dress that is too big to allow room for growth.  But if it's too big, it will just make a skater look sloppy.  Figure skating dresses have a short life anyway, since they are replaced for each new routine.

Once the size is right, remember that most competition dresses are some of the most embellished figure skating dresses made. They are designed to get the attention of the judges and are often brightly colored and decorated with lots of crystals. A great competition figure skating costume should leave a lasting impression of quality in skating and skater packaging with the judges.

Sooo... don't skimp on the bling, but make sure it is tastefully done and appropriate for the skater's age, skills and choreography. Do not bling without the coach's approval.
